Welcome and thank you for visiting my blog!

About Me

If I may, I would like to tell you a little bit about myself. I started teaching in August of 2007. I graduated from Albany State University in Albany, GA (The REAL ASU!!! Go RAMS!!!) in 2005 with my B.S. in Health, Physical Education, and Recreation. In May of 2010, I finished graduate school and earned a MEd. in Elementary Education from Auburn University Montgomery (AUM). Currently, I am working on earning my specialist degree in Elementary Education from The University of West Alabama (UWA).

On April 7, 2007, I married my wonderful husband. My wedding ceremony took place at my husband's home church, Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Tuskegee, AL. Our wedding reception was held at the Kellogg Center at Tuskegee University. It was a great day, although it was a little chilly for an April afternoon. My husband is the varsity boys' basketball coach and physical education/health teacher at LaFayette High School in LaFayette, AL.

My husband and I don't have any children yet! We have a miniature pinscher named Bella who thinks she's our daughter. She is truly a "Daddy's Dog"! She is very playful and extremely energetic. She loves to run and eat ice cubes.

One of my favorite people in the world is my niece, Tiara. She is 5 years old. I love spending time with her during the holidays and during summer break. She loves to sing, dance, eat popsicles and watch her favorite shows on Nickelodeon and Disney Channel. She is so awesome and I LOVE her to pieces!!!

When I'm not teaching, I run my own event planning and management business, Simply Perfect Touches.Through my business, I am able to utilize my creative talents and create beautiful spaces for my clients to admire for weddings, parties, baby showers and many other events. So with the time in-between my commitment to educating students and running my business, I enjoy scrapbooking, making jewelry, and completing do-it-yourself projects.

I truly enjoy my life as a wife, dog owner, auntie, business owner, teacher, cheerleading coach and every other hat that I could possibly wear. I'm a lover of all things zebra print, DIY, shoes, natural hair, accessories, cheese, and anything on sale! As with any life, there are rough times, but for the most part, mine is filled with love, laughter, joy and happiness and I am so thankful for it.
